TrilhAzores is a product essentially aimed at nature and hiking lovers. This program is for you to enjoy the island’s landscapes through various walks through the various parts of Terceira.
PROGRAM
DAY 1 – Mistérios Negros
09:00/09:15 – meeting point at the accommodation. Heading towards the interior of the island, stop at the protected area of Mistérios Negros, for a circular walk of approximately 2h30-3h00, with a moderate/difficult degree of difficulty, an extension of approx. 5km. Lunch at rest. local. In the afternoon, marvel at the lava tube belonging to Gruta do Natal, stroll through the fumaroles of Furnas do Enxofre, and visit the magnificent empty volcano Algar do Carvão.
DAY 2 – Agualva
09:00/09:15 – meeting point at the accommodation. Heading towards the north coast of the island, stop for the Baías da Agualva trail where, along the route along the coast, you can observe the various jagged bays and also contemplate the beauty of the cliffs formed of black basalt. A walk of approximately 2h30 and of a medium degree of difficulty in which it is not flat and goes up to an altitude of 100 meters, it is circular and has a length of 4.5km. Picnic. In the afternoon, towards the parish of Agualva, you will take a walk to the arrows waterfalls where you will have the possibility of a bath; climb to Serra do Cume to be dazzled by the beauty of the largest volcanic caldera in the Azores.
Day 3- Biscoitos
09:00/09:15 – meeting point at the accommodation. Heading towards the northern part of the island, walk along the Rocha do Chambre trail where you can admire the Cryptomeria (Japanese Cedar) forests and also the beauty of an entire volcanic caldera next to geothermal wells. A circular walk of approximately 4 hours, with a length of 9 km and a moderate degree of difficulty and an elevation of approximately 235 meters. Lunch at rest. local. In the afternoon, explore the parish of Biscoitos visiting the vineyards and natural pools formed by lava flow.
