The half-day van tour around Terceira Island, is a perfect activity for those who wish to explore as much as possible of the highlights that the Island has to offer on a short visit. We have created three different tours for you to choose from, based on personal interests and views.

East-side: Is a more history oriented tour. Starting on the volcanic peninsula Monte Brasil, with a breathtaking view over the UNESCO Angra do Heroísmo. Along the eastcoast, passing the two Islets (Ilhéus das Cabras). To the village São Sebastiao to admire the oldest church of Terceira and its “FRESCO“ paintings. An offroad, taking us through farming landscape and up the crater Serra do cume that formed the eastside. We continue to the interior of the Island and visit the volcano Algar do Carvão. An empty volcano with stalactite, stalagmite and a lagoon at the bottum.  Back to the accommodation

West-side: Terceira´s  rocky coast with the first stop at the fishing port and village São Mateus to visit the whaling museum. Further on a local pottery shop where they show the process of pottery making. To the most westernpoint of Terceira,  the village Serreta. Here we visit (Ponta do Queimado) a viewpont with a lighthouse. Through parts of the National park and the cold rainforrest, a stop at ( Mata da Serreta). A park and pic-nic area, filled with eucalyptus, native trees and plants, with the old fountain of worked stone in the center of the park.  Next Village Raminho, a viewpont where we can spot three Islands (São Jorge, Pico, Graciosa). Driving through villages with traditional houses and chimneys, taking us to the northside, to the village Biscoitos. Here we get to visit the natural swimming pools made out of lava from a volcanic eruption hundred years ago. Back to the accomodation.
